TRANSCRIPT OF THE ABOVE VIDEO: Alternative Ways To Say 'I'm Excited' in English - Improve Your Natural English Speaking Skills
Hi everyone, its Nicole here and I'm back answering another one of your questions today.
Today, we're going to have a look at how to say “I'm excited!” You know, it's probably overly used, you know, especially in Australia, we're always excited and positive and happy, or we try to be most of the time, so we probably use the word excited excited excited a little bit too often!
So, today we're going to have a look at some alternatives, some different ways of saying “I'm excited.” Are you ready?
So, we could say “I'm excited” or “I can't wait” or “I'm so excited” - so there you take the so, and you stretch it out to emphasise it, or “I'm super excited” or “I can't express how excited I am” - it's a great one - or “I'm overly excited.” “I'm thrilled.” “I'm delighted.” I love that one. That's a great one.
“I'm on cloud nine.” Have you heard of that before? Yeah. So that's a lovely idiom which just means I'm really really really happy, but it also has the meaning of I'm really really really excited. So, if I'm on cloud nine, you know, I'm dancing up there in the clouds. That's how excited I am. That's how happy I am. “I'm elated.” That's another great one. That means the same thing.
Another funny idiom is “I'm tickled pink.” I'm tickled pink. Have you heard of that? It's quite funny. “I'm ecstatic” - ecstatic - ecstatic - and that means like I'm overly excited. This is excited, and this is ecstatic, you know, it's even more than excited.
“I'm over the moon” or “I'm over the moon with excitement” there, another great one there, and “I'm on top of the world” again, similar to cloud nine there. If you're on top of the world, it means you're really really really happy, you're as, you know, as high as you can be, as happy and excited as you can be.
So anyway, I hope that you're excited to learn some new expressions, and obviously to use them as well.
